Over to the darkside (GPP October challenge and Created by hand "stencils")

I love joining in with Michelle Wards challenges over at the Green Pepper Press site. This also fits in with Created by hand challenge which was stencils today. This month we have to use black paper for some art work. I have had great fun this morning getting carried away making a load of background papers with various stencils and masks using paint. I have made them into a little book with my bind it all machine..I am doing this quite a lot now otherwise the papers get lost in my stash?????!!! The front cover also features a clip of a Klimt painting...very gothic with its grim reaper skeleton..I love October as most of the challenges are on the spooky darkside..wooooo!!!

Wohoo! Making your own books is such a great idea. You're right, can't have things vanishing into the stash. Thanks for sharing.

Oh so beautiful! I found you from Ravenpainting and what a beautiful find you are! Your work reminds me of Mary Haldeman's work which was some of the first altered art and collage work I found when I started out about a year and a half ago. I had seen her work in the ATC Workshop book and knew I wanted to try my hand at making art after a very long hiatus from doing my own work. Anyway, I just find your work as thrilling as I found Mary's then and I am so excited to find you. I'm going in to add you to my links so I can stalk you regularly!

Don't you love having these original backgrounds for your work, and knowing how you made them and how you felt? These are gorgeous and I know they'll be great to work with. Have fun!

Wow look at all of those fabulous gothic hand painted papers. I'm so inspired to go make some. I'm working on some touches for my Halloween blog party entry for tomorrow. I think tonight I'll have to pull out some paper and supplies and make some papers! Thanks for the inspiration.
