Over at Green Pepper press this months challenge is to make your own snowflake stencils and use them with paint etc on your journal. I took some great photos of my sons in the snow this morning so used them on the snowflake page. The challenge states do a page in 60 mins so managed to quickly fit it all in. First I dry brushed some pastel paints onto the pages then cut some snowflakes out while this was drying. Used the snowflakes as a mask and while the paint was drying for this I printed out some photos onto transparencies. Have finished the pages with some rub ons, glitter and the snowflake patterns. A lovely winters page to remember this day when we all had great fun in the snow. Whilst I am typing this I am watching the snow fall heavily and drinking my cup of tea ready to start the walk to school again to pick my sons up!

I would say that Donna over at Homemaking Made Easy is a super woman. Of course, her children aren't little anymore. I can certainly learn a lot from her. Thanks for your always encouraging comments and for the idea of lard on the pine cones.
Here I am leaving you three comments on one post. I just read your comment that you left for Shona on her post at the Wish Studio. And I would say that you are most definitely an Artistic Mother. I think the way you arrange your time to do your art is perfect. I love how you have supplies available for your boys but you don't pressure them and how they have their own blog where they can post their creations. I am sure that encourages them. And how wonderful that they appreciate what you do. You have given them a gift. I think it's great that you have your own separate identity as well as the mom identity. I think that this could probably help protect you (and me) somewhat in the future against the empty nest syndrome. I won't have to deal with the empty nest problem for a long time, though, since I am almost 45 and have a 22 month old. I do think I will mourn as each one leaves the nest. And I will need an adjustment period. I have one that's already left, so to speak. She is a junior in college. My next oldest is almost 17.

I love your pages and I think ist is a very good idea to print your photo's on transparacies and put them on top.

wow it's great what you've done with this crusade : not only making a background, but creating a real journalpage adding the photos !
