Havent been feeling too good today with my backache so we had a chippy meal tonight and I have just been playing around with my journal. To get over the blank white page fear I tend to just stick odd bits of paintings I have done when playing with paint with my sons. I then like to go over the swirls etc with pastels, charcoal and see what comes out....The bottom photo shows another page I have just started I dont really have any set ideas how this is going to turn out..

I love that they are random paintings and then you build on them from there.......I love the layery look of the first one....I love lava lamps too...I get entranced by them...I never had one when I was a kid in the seventies...my daughter had a purple one.......

I really like the idea of a visual journal. I've written in a diary since I was 15 - 34 years now. And always drawn little doodles. I would like to take it to the next level and just draw. Any tips! All this mixed media and collage stuff is kind of mixed up to me. Thanks. CP
