The challenge over at one powerful hour is to create a piece around a word. Well I was wonderng how I was going to get a full hour of artiness in today but then I thought why not have a huge painting session with the kids. So out came all the paints, brushes, foam stamps etc and we all had a play with paint.
Once I had finished the painting I stuck it in my journal and added some more writing. To see the pages better just click on the photo (had to scan it in as having problems with the camera). The main word on the right is "focus" and I think this is such a good word to have. If we focus then we can put aside all negative critical thoughts and just go for it and have a mess round having fun. The words opposite I have scratched in the paint and read "Find Inner Peace". I go to yoga classes regularly (well apart from when its snowing!!!) and I feel so calm and relaxed afterwards that I get a lot of creative ideas..so hopefully this year you can find just a little bit of calm and focus in your life....

I knew you could do it! Great idea to involve the kids - this is fabulous! Focus is a huge problem for me....thanks for playing!!!
Oh wow stunning collage.
Brilliant work.
Fabulous collage!
This is a wonderful painting- love the color and the idea that prompted the art. I think inner peace comes from the act of creating- looks like you do too!
This is beautiful. It looks like a collage rather than a painting. If I didn't live across the ocean with exorbitant shipping fees, I would suggest you making prints and selling them as collage sheets. It could be used as is or cut up to do another piece like you did with your Traci Butista (and others) collage. by the way, did you get her free download she sent out around Christmas? It is like 7 pages long.
It's so rich and layered. All those textures. At the same time it's so balanced. Really wonderful.
Fantastic!
beautiful painting, and love the words you chose. i need inner peace... i might even get some paints out.
brilliant stuff!!
