Remembering Paris...(theme thursday challenge)

We visited Paris many years ago...I remember eating frogs legs, snails and mussels with chips. Its not my favourite city as I prefer Firenze in Tuscany but I did enjoy our Spring weekend there. We stayed at a lovely hotel near the Seine which was run by a lovely African lady. She served us really gorgeous cheese, ham and croissants of a morning complete with aromatic Parisian coffee in tiny cups. I still eat cheese and ham for breakfast as too many UK people eat cereal which is just too sugary and full of calories..

For this drawing I used a magazine picture of an African lady for inspiration. I have used charcoal, pastels, crayons and a stamp of the eiffel tower and french writing for the background. I am so glad I started a sketchbook as I think my drawings are improving with practice...

Lorraine, what a fine portrait you've made. I love your drawing/painting and hope to see more of it in 2010. I eat oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast almost every day, but it would be nice to have one of those delicious breakfasts you described every now and then. (But not the snails and other unusual fare.)

This looks great! Thanks for stopping by and providing encouragement to me. I have an art pad, it's finding the intention to actually work that seems to escape me at times. I appreciate you visiting
