Cheshire Ice Cream Farm day....

Decided to visit the Cheshire ice cream farm today and was amazed at the way it had changed. I remember going there about
6yrs ago and then it was just a small milking parlour with home made ice cream..today it is huge but still very affordable. We had some fantastic home made ice cream...I had mocha coffee and my sons strawberries and cream. There is a great indoor and outdoor play area, farm animals to see and lovely views of Cheshire along the duck pond..recommend it. I would love to live in Cheshire as its such a beautiful place but perhaps not in harsh winter when access could be a bit difficult. We didnt see any pheasants in the road today but a hare instead...we are taking my parents tomorrow as we had such a great time. I would love to know what your fav place is to visit..please tell.

Our favorite place to visit is about 30 minutes from home. It's a little town called Coldspring, Tx. On the weekends, all of the shops in this tiny little county seat of San Jacinto, open up. An retired artist from the local University (about an hour away) holds tole painting classes. She knows everyone and everything--in fact all the history of our area. There are antique shops, and a 'pioneer town' that you can visit. They have an old museum too where the last official hanging (rope on display) was held. The boys think it's a hoot! They have a beautiful old time school, railroad depot, and corn shucking station set up, along with a quilting store. We visit for the day, pick up a family pack of BBQ from the Smokin' Gun and head to a nearby recreational area/state park to eat. This sleepy little town is so small, that I have to call ahead and tell the restaurant that we are bringing five whole people so they can plan to cook extra.

It's our family's favorite outing.

I wish we could visit your favorite place...It sounds wonderful! We have an icecream place like it in Brenham, Tx. They produce BlueBell icecream which is famous in the southern US. Sounds like you had a wonderful day!

Hi Lorraine - sounds like a lucious place to visit and funnily enough I had ice cream too today.
My favourite place to visit locally is a small market town - Petworth. Lots of antique shops which sadly are very expensive but lovely things to look at and sometimes - just sometimes - you find something. Two really lovely tea shops - one with huge leather armchairs and sofas and homemade cakes and lovely coffee and the other which is just a nice place to be. The best thing about the twon though is the doors. You have never seen so many different styles, shapes and sizes and some of the door furniture is amazing. Have spent may a happy hour poking around and taking piccies - all ready to put in a journal ....
Hope you and the boys enjoy the rest of the holiday
Loving the lutrador stuff by the way - what is it?

Oh homemade ice cream!!! Sounds so good!! and Donna mentioned Blue Bell ice cream--the BEST. When I lived in Texas we ate it all the time and they don't sell it in Missouri!! I miss it. Enjoy your trip back tomorrow!! Lucky you!
