butterfly reminder...

I am following projects in the Artistic Mother group and today I made a butterfly reminder. I have covered the butterfly shape with various papers, stamped images and wall tile adhesive! I found out that this is a great substitute for gesso as its textured, dries quickly with a heat gun and is really cheap for a big tub! The heart at the bottom has a little flower clip for me to attach various reminder words such as paint, sew or read etc. I had fun making this today in the middle of arranging my sons family birthday party for tonight. This morning some beautiful clematis appeared which I have growing naturally around my cordyline palm tree..so had to photograph them with my butterfly..(click on photo to see detail)

Hi! My alternative to gesso is wall putty, I wonder if that's similar to your tile adhesive? Nice project! Patsy from

Your Butterfly reminder is very pretty. It looks so nice amongst the flowers in the tree. Thanks for the tips of using tile adhesive. I had never heard of that.

And thanks for the compliment on my dress on my sewing blog. That would be so neat if you would make one, too. Let me know if you do.

Lorraine..that is so so pretty! I love butterflies anyway...but yours has such a beautiful color. I can't wait for this summer when I get to start doing Shona's projects too!

For now, I'll keep you comment about the cheap gesso in mind. I've got to find a CHEAP way to do this stuff!

Have fun at your party!
