Needlefelted recipe book cover

with a cover it looks a lot better than the boring blue plastic!

I bought this useful index card holder from Asda for £1. I have been doing a lot of baking lately and wanted to make a book full of my fav tried and tested recipes. I made this needlefelted cover from a vintage blanket that I bought at the Woolfest in the summer. It is great to needlefelt into and is lovely to hold. Its got a plastic see through cover as I am a very messy cook but it looks better without this for the photo. Now to think what other projects I can do with the blanket.

I want to make a chicken doorstop (not a triangle one)..does anyone know where I can download a free pattern?

what pretty colors, so delicate.

looks like you've been staying busy, lots of interesting things to look at. i've been meaning to pop over and take a look. been out of the fray for a few months, busy with "life."

your blackberry jam looks yummy. how cool to make it yourself! i would have no idea that you would use apples to make the jam!

i saw a pattern for a bird in a recent quilting arts magazine, it was for little birds with wire legs coming out. but i imagine you could blow up the pattern and put pebbles or beans in it instead of batting, to make it heavier to hold the door open.

here is a link i found online to the birds, it even has a pretty photo. but now that i think of it, it was not quilting arts magazine, but that international quilt festival magazine from like 9 months ago (it sat on my table for the last nine months and i only got around to reading it last night!!)

anyway they dont really look like chickens, but YOU are creative and you could totally improvise. put on of those gobble things on the top of the head and put some crazy webbed feet sticking out the bottom.

Lovely needle felting work. Great little idea. There is a book out there called "A Greener Christmas" put out by DK a few years ago. There is a great sewn chicken pattern using old woolens. I made it and it came out great, you might find it at the library. xox Corrine

You always have the most creative ideas...I have never tried felting although my cousin has shown me lovely things she has made. This would make a wonderful gift...I'm starting to get holiday ideas floating around in my brain!

I love that! It is so cute!!!

I made my first pajama shorts. I actually made two. I wear them to bed every night. I am so happy with them. I should probably make some pants soon as it the weather will start getting cold. Hope you'll come take a look. By the way, I am turning 10 this weekend.
