dare you meet Dominique Steampunk?

I did this drawing last night and wanted to do a gothic steampunk mistress..I have called her Dominique Steampunk. I have been checking out all the free art videos on the excellent Milliande site and have used the elastic band brayer technique along with paint and various clock stamps for the background. The theme for the whole of this month is steampunk at Milliande so be sure to check out this excellent ning site which is for creative women everywhere...

Or is she Dominatrix Steampunk?! She's lovely and ever so slightly scary.

Love the background textures - I'll have to remember the elastic bands on the brayer.

Wow Lorraine! She looks just great! I hate to show my artistic ignorance here..but is steampunk sort of a melding of 1920's antique textures and styles with 2010's punk attitude or atmosphere? It feels so 'old' and yet 'modern' at the same time.

I love the subdued colors and the style as well. It's a really beautiful piece of art!
