Having a go at painting landscapes in acrylic

Had a go at painting with acrylics last night. The paint is so different from watercolours but I am enjoying the process of learning from a Frank Clarke book.

I went on a bike ride to the local lighthouse at Hale this morning to take loads of photos for future paintings..at one point a sparrowhawk flew very close it was such a beautiful sight. I love living so near the Mersey Estuary.

Here is a photo of me looking daft but warm in my cycle helmet and dayglo jacket...

You seem to be coping well with the change of medium Lorraine. Great painting and nice that you have the chance to do the Mersey estuary cycle rides !

That looks wonderful! I like the result. Didn't realise you lived so close to where we live (Merseyside). We went to Hale Village a couple of years ago and visited that lighthouse - it's a lovely place. Nice to see someone not afraid to post a 'daft' photo, he, he x

Well aren't you sporty? What a wonderful look on you! Your painting is lovely! I love to paint with acrylics and if you add all the fantastic mediums that are out there you can really make your paintings wonderfully texturized I am learning. Fun fun!
