My first attempts with encaustic painting

I went to my friend Linda's shop today and had a play with an encaustic iron. I just used ordinary crayons for this you dont have to buy expensive blocks! I already had some encaustic card but I am sure you could use any glossy coated card. I had a go at making a couple of landscapes today and some abstract backgrounds. Nice and easy and can be created in seconds. I think I will use it with some black stencils or stamps next time.
