Sewing down the generations!!

My mum is very talented at sewing and she has passed her love of sewing on to me. Father Christmas brought my sons some puppet making kits and here is my 5yr old with his very first puppet which he sewed all by himself!! I think it is so important to pass skills on. What skills do you hope to pass on?

How brilliant- every child should have an opportunity to do sewing. I am making sure Dan gets the chance to draw and paint (naturally!) and play musical instruments too!

I hope to pass on the knowledge that your art has to please you and not everyone else, does not have to be perfect, does not have to follow rules and most of all you have to enjoy it. If I had known this earlier i would have alot more confidence in my work. A drop out of the school art classes because i can't draw, why didn't anyone pick up that i was actually quite good and batik, lino printing etc..

What I don't want to pass on is my complete lack of organisational skills- you ain't seeing my craftroom LOL

Wonderful job, young man! Sewing, at least the basics, is important for men as well as women. My dh sews on his own buttons when they fall off and has been known to repair a thing or two (by hand, not sewing machine).

Lorraine, thanks for checking out my blog on blogspot. I don't know which you had looked at before. I do M-W-F challenges on hastingshall2.wordpress.
