Felting Beyond the Boundaries Workshop

I went to a fantastic felting workshop today held by Helen Melvin (http://www.fieryfelts.co.uk/). My friends Linda, Pat & Bethan came along and we all had great fun experimenting with wet felting, painting on felt with dyes and using an indigo dye vat.

Here is a photo of the wool tops all layered thinly on top of each other before you felt them with with olive soap in water and then add textures such as chiffon, threads for a very textured piece. I am quite pleased with the felting I did today as it sort of reminded me of aboriginal art with its earthy colours. I am not sure what I am going to make with them yet but it was the learning of a new creative process that I really enjoyed....

Everyone had a great day and here is all of our work layed out at the end of the day...what a variety and it was great that we all did different things when making the felt
