Rust, Stitch, Pirates & Worry....

Today have spent most of the day watching the kids play pirates with an old rusty box my husband found in the garage. I have started doing a maia bird cross stitch kit as I find cross stitch relaxing and a nice change. Yesterday I went to a craft show intending to have a great time but then my son got sick. He is fine now as my husband picked him up from school but we still worry dont we unless we are at home with them. Here is a poem I wrote about yesterday which you may relate to...

Worried Mum

I'm at a craft show then.....
One missed call
School
He is ok now
He has been sick
Worry Guilt
I should be at home
Waiting for the phone to ring.
Looking at all the stalls
Inspiration anew
Cant absorb ideas
Worry
He's sleeping
Now he's OK
Playing pirates in pyjamas
I'll save the worry for another day.....

Lovely, unusual cross-stitch. I do a lot of them as I find them really meditative.

Glad your son is ok now. Your worry really comes across in the poem and is one every mum can relate to.

I so know that guilt. Don't beat yourself up too much, you couldn't have possibly known he was going to get sick.

How's he doing now?

I love he poem. Will you be incorporating poems into your collage pieces? You're really good at it.

Your poem so clearly describes what we go through as mothers. It is a job that is so full of worry and guilt.

I'm so glad your is okay after all.

I haven't done crosstitch in such a very long time, perhaps I should give it another go...Hmmm. I had no idea you wrote poetry as well, so creative all around! My husband writes as well. I told him he needs his own blog :)
