may we remember them...Three muses blackbird)
I painted this picture last night as I wanted to incorporate red poppies into a sad picture of a widow. Today is rememberance day when we remember all those killed in wars..please wear your poppy with pride and think of all those who have died in futile wars over the years.. The theme this week over at 3 muses is blackbird so be sure to check out all the other entries

God Bless those who have served and their families! Beautiful tribute!
What a lovely painting. When I was a little girl, I sold red and white poppies on Veteran's day. I don't see that any more.
This is a very beautiful and moving piece. Bless you for creating it. We owe a great deal to all of our veterans. Too often people tend to forget what these brave men and women --- and their families --- have sacrificed to make our lives lived in freedom possible. I love this country, and I love the beautiful piece you painted. Thanks again.
Poignant and perfect for today.

such a beautiful and moving painting Lorraine!! Love it!
So beautiful and dramatic painting!!!
Thank you so much for linking our challenge at the Muses to the very emotive theme of remembrance. You have created a beautiful interpretation on the theme.
Beautifully done, and a fitting tribute to all those who have served our country. Good work!

Stunning tribute to this day of rememberance. Beautiful painting. I wore a shirt with poppies today!
Beautiful painting Lorraine
Beautiful painting Lorraine - you've captured a soulful expression
Timely and quite fantastic!
Lorraine, That is just beautiful..and moving (as others have said). I didn't know that wearing red poppies meant you were remembering veterans. How wonderful! Thanks for reminding us, though I do often think of those who give their lives for our country. My son, a marine, will be leaving for Afghanistan, as a translator (who will also have to fight). He now speaks Russian and Pashtu.
Touchy and beautiful artwork.
Beautiful, Beautiful! I love the swirls and the soft blue of her dress with the deep background and red roses - beautiful art and tribute, xoxo
Lorraine, your painting is exquisite and so, so touching. Perfect for Remembrance Day and a great use of blackbirds in the design.
