Komebukuro

Continuing with my sewing phase I have been making some komebukuro or japanese rice bags. They were traditionally used in Japan to hold temple offerings of rice and other goods.

I bought the kit to make this blue bag from www.japancrafts.co.uk who had a stall at the craft show in manchester
I decided to use some lovely fabric I had to make this one..great to use up oddments of fabric to make them and beads you have lying round
Until next time...back to the sewing machine...

Beautiful! I love the colors in that last one. And I learned something new...I had never heard of rice bags before.
